I don't think that adding a saturator plugin would be all that satisfying in the long-run as what you are looking for is continued degradation on the repeats in the feedback loop and not degradation of the output of the delay.

Their online demo clearly demonstrates that it will bend the pitch, but don't know if they are doing the changes via MIDI CC or not. Dubstation doesn't and it also glitches when locked to incoming MIDI tempo. It surprises me how many don't provide that feature. I also require the plugin to act as a Ping Pong delay. It also crashes Ableton when wrapped up in part of a chain and then controlled via MIDI. Also, it doesn't do nice pitchbends when under MIDI CC control. It is a switch for 2 types of Echoplex emulation, an Electro-Harmonix Memory Man BBD, an Oilcan delay and the Boss DM-2.Īlthough I find SoundToys' 'Echoboy' to be the best sounding and most tweakable delay that I own, it glitches like a mofo under MIDI control in Ableton. The only two that I've found that will do this in a manner that sounds good (as of this moment) are Nomad Factory's 'Echoes'Īnd Fabfilter's Timeless I (I don't own the second series of plug-ins)Īlthough I've heard very mixed reviews of the Nomad Factory line, this particular plug-in delivers on sounding quite gritty, distorted, and lofi like analog tape delays should when using PLX-1.

Sweet mother of fuck, it is soooo hard to find a plug-in that will run under Ableton Live that won't glitch in a nasty way. Just seems like even if you had beat sync and relied on that youd still be incapable of 'live' (or whatever you can playing in the keybed without a sequencer) playing on rhythm. The key one is that the delay can be locked to MIDI Beat Clock and that I can change the clock divisions (1/2, 1/4, whatever) of the plug-in via MIDI CC and have the pitch of the echoes bend to the next speed (the clock division) like a tape machine would do. I personally prefer tempo sync to beat sync because then you can do things like hit it on the off beat and have it stay on the off beat, or on any other division of the beat.
